Statement of Faith

OF THE SCRIPTURES:

We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testament. We also believe them to be inerrant and infallible, and that they are supreme and the final authority for faith and practice. We believe that God has preserved His Word and that Word is the King James Version, 1611. We hold to use only this version.

OF GOD:

We believe in one living and true God and that He exists in three Person: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit–That these are eternal, identical in nature , equal in power and glory, and have the same attributes and perfections.

OF CHRIST:

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary in order to reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as the only substitutionary sacrifice. We believe that He was literally and physically resurrected from the dead, and that He ascended to the right hand of the Father as our high priest, intercessor, and advocate.

OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, that He convicts of sin, and is the agent of the new birth. We believe He baptizes believers into the body of Christ, indwells and seals them until the day of redemption and that He is the Teacher Who guides unto all truth, obedience, and fills all those who belong to Christ.

OF SATAN OR THE DEVIL:

We believe in the devil as the Prince and Power of the air, that he is the Antichrist, and that he is the enemy of all Christians and the church. He is the one who enslaves the soul and the god of this world. He is the opposite of Jesus Christ. He is destined to the judgment of eternal justice in the Lake of Fire.

OF CREATION:

We believe that God created the Heavens and Earth, including all life. Creatin was a direct act and not by process of evolution, We believe that man descended from historical Adam and Eve.

OF THE FALL OF MAN:

We believe that man in the person of Adam was created in innocence, but by voluntary transgression committed sin, thus through his seed plunged the whole race into condemnation and death.

OF REDEMPTION OF SIN:

 We believe that the only escape from the condemnation of sin is through the redemption wrought by Jesus Christ when He voluntarily took upon Himself a human body and nature, and yet without sin He suffered death, and resurrection made full satisfaction to the justice of God for the sin of man; that the blessing of this salvation are given on the grounds of grace to all who believe and confess and that is the duty of man to accept these offers of mercy.

OF SALVATION BY GRACE:

We believe that faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation from sin and this salvation is wholly by grace; that no works, however good, will merit or make salvation available to man.

OF ETERNAL SECURITY:

We believe that all who accept Christ by faith as Savior are born again and are eternally secure in Christ.

OF THE CHURCH:

We believe that the church is a New Testament institution established by Jesus Christ who is the sole head, and is empowered by the Holy Spirit. It began at Pentecost and will be consummated at the Rapture. We believe the local church is the congregation of baptized believers associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances, reaching the unsaved, and governed by the Word of God. We believe that the offices are the pastor and the deacons; that it has the absolute right of self government as directed by the Holy Spirit. It is answerable only to Christ and that in all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline and benevolence the will of the church is final.

OF THE ORDINANCES:

We believe there are two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is done in obedience to the command of Christ and signifies faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. Baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of a commemoration of the Lord’s death till He comes and of our fellowship with Him. It should be preceded by baptism and always by careful self-examination.

OF THE RETURN OF CHRIST:

We believe in the bodily, personal, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ; that He will come before the seven year tribulation to rapture His church; and that He will return at the end of the seven year tribulation to judge the living nations and to set up His millennial reign on this earth.

OF THE RESURRECTION:

We believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the dead; that the believers who sleep in Jesus Christ will be raised at the coming of Christ for His church and will be caught up with the transformed living saints to meet the Lord in the air. The wicked dead will be raised at the close of the millennial kingdom and stand up in the bodies at the great white throne judgment to receive their final doom.

OF THE ETERNAL STATE:

We believe that the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence and there remain in conscious bliss, until the resurrection of the body at His coming and shall forever be with Christ in eternal bliss. We believe that the souls of the unsaved remain in conscious misery after death in Hell until the final judgment at the great white throne at the close of the millennial reign. At that time, soul and body will be reunited and cast alive into the eternal Lake of Fire where they will be punished in conscious torment with eternal punishment with the devil.

OF THE TONGUES MOVEMENT:

We believe that the gift of languages was a sign gift to verify the gospel message until the complete revelation of the Word of God. Inasmuch as the biblical gift of languages has ceased and this present day charismatic movement causes division and strife wherever it appears and is not conductive to harmony, this church rejects the tongues movement and will not accept into its membership those engaged in the charismatic movement.

OF HUMAN SEXUALITY:

We believe that God has commanded that all intimate sexual activity be solely and exclusively within a marriage between one man and one woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality including, but not limited to, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.

OF MARRIAGE:

We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.

OF LIFE:

We believe that all human life is created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth and endowed with inherent dignity. It is to be respected and protected from conception to natural death. We believe we are called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

OF SEPARATION:

We believe that the saved should live in such a manner as to not bring reproach upon our Savior and Lord. We believe we are called to live a life of separation unto God and from religious apostasy and all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations as the Children of God.
